Perhaps you need a new swimsuit – check these suggestions out, whether you like the traditional ‘speedo’ variety, or the swim bike pants called ‘jammmers’. The only thing missing is the traditional men’s one piece swim suit, which is great for those guys who don’t have a 6 pack or have scars or burns on their abdomen. I can’t seem to find many men’s one piece swim suits, email me at lycraluva at gmail dot com if you do come across any. Thanks in advance LL.
When it comes to buying a swimming costume there are many factors to consider. What will you be using your new swimsuit for? Will it be used once a day, once a week, or more like once a month? Do you need it for leisure swimming, training/fitness or racing? And then there’s the vast amount of different styles, colours and swimwear materials to choose from, it can all be a little overwhelming. But don’t fear, ProSwimwear is here to help explain the ins and outs of buying swimwear. These guides will help you figure out what sort of swimsuit to purchase for your needs.
So lets start with men’s swimwear. Nowadays men are not constricted to wearing traditional “Speedo” style swim briefs at the pool, there are many different swimwear styles to choose from that apply to a range of different purposes.

Great article on the wrestling singlet. Traditionally wrestling was nude – the modern wrestling singlet combines function and form to reveal an athletic competitor’s raw power. Thanks to singlets and stuff for the content and post.
The singlet…the modern uniform and arguably the most recognizable aspect of amateur wrestling (folkstyle, freestyle, and greco-roman). However, the sport may be getting a new look in the coming years, which may not include the iconic one-piece.
Ever since the IOC (International Olympic Committee) announced the removal of wrestling from the 2020 Olympics in February of last year, it sparked a wildfire of wrestlers, fans, and supporters from across the globe. It also shook up the governing body of FILA ( Fédération Internationale des Luttes Associées or International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles), who replaced their president and started to put forth proposals to help “modernize” the sport as well as make it more appealing to the masses.
Some proposed changes include modifications to the scoring system to award more aggressive wrestlers and prevent long boring matches prevailed by clinching. A different mat color to appeal better to television viewers, is…

Personally I believe fit and comfort take priority. If you can’t go to the store, you need to make sure you will fit into it. Many suppliers will make you a custom lycra leotard or biketard, providing you are prepared to wait a few weeks and supply your measurements.
Usually each designer will ask you to measure your bust, waist and then the girth (length between the groin to top of the shoulder).
The ‘Annabelle’. Check out the mesh back, not only looks elegant but functional too!

The “Marcus” with sleeves and Matthew shorts. A good option if you like different pants and shirts – why not mix and match.
For vintage lycra male leotards they can be difficult to obtain, mainly due to the fact that they were around int he 1970’s and 1980’s, but there were more women’s leotards made.
However with some shopping around on www.etsy.com or a quick search of www.ebay.com, you can pick up a good quality leotard which will keep your workouts interesting.
The problem with male leotards is that they have such low demand for funky wayout colours that manufacturers only put out blacks, blues and browns. See below.
When you compare the range and type of leotards for women, its a good thing that leotards can be unisex and can be worn by men, women and children. There is a slight difference between male and female leotards, being the additional fabric in the front pouch area. However, if you are wearing lycra shorts or gym shorts over them, no one is none the wiser.
They describe their company as, “our primary focus is currently on meggings, the form-fitted pant that has been functionally and aesthetically tailored to the male physique.” There you go, meggings ARE pants. And if men, whose nether regions are decidedly more bulky than women’s can prance around in curve hugging, skin tight fabric, so can women.
I’m not affiliated with Meggings Men in any way, I just believe that leggings are beautiful, beautiful clothing and that leggings as pants are the way God intended them to be worn.
Nike Cross Fit Stride Feather Jacket – Running inspired durable ripstop lightweight jacket features a water resistant shell fabric that helps repel the outdoor elements. Self bound internal seams provide super clean interior finish. Micro mesh vents at underarm and sleeve for breathability.
I just stumbled across this Mens Cross Fit Compression tight made by Reebok.
These two pieces would look the part at any gym or workout!
The Reebok Men’s CrossFit Compression Tights feature PlayIce fabric technology which uses ventilation, moisture management and fabric construction to help aid the release of heat. Antimicrobial fabrication and stretch flatlock seams further enhance long-lasting comfort, even for the toughest workout.
Fabric: 73% polyester, 27% elastane tricot
PlayIce fabric technology offers enhanced ventilation and moisture release
Antimicrobial fabrication keeps you feeling fresher for longer
Stretch flatlock seams offer chafe-free comfort
Mesh gusset and knee panels for enhanced range of motion
Having tried compression tights with the gusset (support for guys), I think the gusset is useful in activities which you are moving around a fair bit, such as cardio workouts etc.
I’m interested in how many men (apart from me) would wear these cool compression tights.
There seems to be a trend away from black and boring compression tights. As seen in my earlier post, womens compression tight fashion is a lot more interesting, whilst the men are too scared to buy compression pants that have a colour or designs.
I think the right mix of support and compression is also vital, and not being familiar with the PlayIce fabric technology, I wonder how it compares to the likes of the Brooks Dri-Fit wicking technology and also the type of technology used in the antimicrobrial fabrication (how is this done?).
According to one review on the Reebok site, they run small and are a little tight, which has been my experience with some Brooks Running Tights I bought some time ago (although I think it was my chub that was the problem – not the tights).
If you’ve bought a pair of these tights, let us know what they were like and whether you would recommend them.
